As a Cadet of 304 (Hastings) Squadron, you will get the chance to do a wide variety of activities. These include:

Flying and Gliding

As a Cadet, there are many
 opportunities to fly powered
 aircraft as well as gliders.

Parades

We also attend parades in the local area for events such as Remembrance Day, Hastings Week and others too.

Band

The Squadron has a band which plays at parades such as Remembrance Day.

In the Town

We participate in many other activities locally, including the town carnival as well as helping The Royal British Legion.

Shooting

As we have our own 25m range, we like to go shooting as often as possible and
Cadets can gain awards (badges) for outstanding Marksmanship.

 






 



Adventure Training

There are opportunities to attend adventure training camps throughout the year.
These may involve exercises during the day as well as at some point in the night.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

The Air Training Corps is linked to the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. Cadets can progress through all the levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Radio Communications

The Squadron has its own radios and everyone is taught the correct procedures for their use. Cadets are encouraged to attend courses to gain a qualification. Experienced radio communicators use their skills on external Cadet activities such as tracking teams during night exercises.

UK Camps and Overseas

There are many opportunities to go to RAF stations for Summer or Winter Camps. These can be in the United Kingdom as well as overseas. Cadets from 304 (Hastings) Squadron have attended camps in Gibraltar, Cyprus and Germany as well as an International Air Cadet Exchange visit to India.
